  1. Go to http://floridacreatives.com/node/add/event
  2. Fill in a title for this event. If the meetup is regional, please say so (e.g. Refresh Miami, Brevard April Happy Hour)
  3. If the event is posted to an external site or other social networks, such as Facebook, you may include the RSVP link. Give the link a title that uses action words, like "Buy Tickets" or "Signup on our Official Site"
  4. Fill in a starting Date and Time for the event. All day events may un-check the "Event has time" box. If you care to include an ending time, please do so. Multi-day events should include and ending time, by checking the "Event has End date" box and filling in the info.
  5. Provide a description of the event - the first few words and sentences are crucial, they may be re-posted to RSS, Twitter or other sites.
  6. If the event has a schedule, guest speakers, complicated driving directions, or other special instructions, please include them.
  7. Include a short description of your organization and mission at the end of the description body.
  8. Uploading an image is encouraged - particularly an image taken at a previous or similar event. A poster containing dates is not index-able by search engines, so it will not serve the same purpose as a compelling image and solid text.
  9. If a community or meetup is sponsoring this event, you may choose one from the list. If you would like to add your group's description to the site, read the wiki on creating a new community listing in the directory. Linking an event to a meetup may increase the visibility and relevance of an event.
  10. Choose a related group on the site - perhaps a regional group and one or more interest-based groups, like "Gainesville" and "Poetry"
  11. FIll in a location name, address and zip code for your regular meeting place
  12. Preview your page and review the data - particularly the date - before hitting Save
