Whether your’er new to prepress or a seasoned professional you’ll want to be at the Winter Park Civic Center, the night of Wednesday, March 24th when we have two special fast paced presentations. Our evening begins when Omar Cabello, Solutions Manager for Abbott Printing, presents “The Complete Pre-Press Top-Ten Mistakes - Abridged”. Omar, brings us up to date with current prepress requirements featuring InDesign and Acrobat workflows.

In a little under 60 short minutes you’ll receive real world examples, explanations, definitions and useful demonstrations. Topics include: Bleeds, Creeps, Fonts, Separation Palette - Overprint Preview, Eye Dropper (densitometer), Fonts (OTF, TT, Type1), Rich Black Dies - Setup Separation and Overprint Attributes, Pantone Colors & CMYK Color Bridge Libraries, Ink Manager - Manage Colors, Separation Aliases, Flattener Preview - Identify Transparent Objects, PDFs - PDF Job Options, PDFs - PDF Export Presets (from printer), Page Geometry and much more.

Understanding of pre-press is extremely important today for Graphic Designers as Omar shows us that with today's current technology, prepress departments, produce more work in quicker turnaround times with less in house people and less equipment. For more details about Abbott Printing, check out their website www.AbbottPrinting.com

PART TWO:

Following a short break Douglas Mitchell, Adobe Certified Instructor, presents “How to Create using Adobe PDF Portfolio” and “How to Use Acrobat.com”, Adobe’s Free Cloud. Douglas with step-by-step PDF Portfolio, creates, organizes, and archives Acrobat PDF’s into logical presentations which include: text, photos, images, links, movies, and audio. Douglas shows us Portfolio is the easy, helpful, and intuitive; (using collections of PDF’s) starting with basic template layouts. Adobe InDesign User Group - Orlando Chapter (IDUG); is a special interest group (SIG) of the Florida Macintosh User Group (FLMUG). Use this area to connect with other like minded Creative Suite users. Artists, designers, students, interested professionals or amateurs, print and new media, everyone is invited to this exciting User Group.

The Adobe Creative Suite Applications work on both Apple and Windows platforms. Therefore, our user group is non-specific for platform, open to any and all interested; we address very current and topical information. Adobe is a supporter of the IDUG - Orlando Chapter please register and become a member.

Our presentations are by industry experts, local designers, authors and Adobe representatives. We explore their experiences, projects, how they did it, what programs they used and how these programs work. Be sure to check our user group benefits and see examples of topics and meeting notes from our local group and other national and international groups.

Our presentations are informative and focused. There will be answers to questions and you’re guaranteed to discover new methods and means to accomplish new things with your chosen toolset.

If you would like to be a presenter, sponsor or have a service or product that you would like to share with our User Group please contact Edward Feldman at efeldman@mac.com

Please be sure to also register so we have an accurate count for our usual pizza, and other refreshments. Registration at our Adobe User Group Site is FREE. We offset Bi-monthly meeting expenses with proceeds from raffle tickets.

3 raffle tickets for $10, 8 tickets for $20, 15 tickets for $30; Students with ID: 1 ticket for $5.

Remember this is a public site and any information you post can and will be viewed by others.

Our ability to bring the quality professional Adobe Certified Instructors to our bi-montly meeting are based on the purchase of raffle tickets towards tools of our trade: software, books, and services from Adobe, publishers, various software vendors and generous donors, not from membership fees. These funds cover the rental of meeting space, food, travel and lodging and other user group related expenses. Please support OUR group.
