Startup Weekend is a global grassroots movement of active and empowered entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures. Startup Weekend Orlando EDU is focused on creating startups that will change the way that education is delivered. All Startup Weekend events follow the same basic model: anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams organically form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and then it’s a 54 hour frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation. The weekends culminate with presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders with another opportunity for critical feedback. Winning ideas will receive $5,000 in startup capital.

Latin meets Asian, Restaurant meets Food Truck. Sounds like an awesome mashup to me. Tako Cheena is a great example of the kind of energy we encourage at Florida Creatives - take things that don't traditionally belong together, put them in the same room, and watch the sparks fly!

Come an meet some of the talented creative minds of Orlando in one of the longest-running happy hour meetups in the state of Florida. We hope you can find a safe place to share new ideas, talk about your passions and meet some mentors or collaborators. We have been attracting a pretty diverse group recently, so you don't want to miss it!

Tako Cheena will be opening up special for us. They have also told me it's OK to BYOB for tonight - normally they only serve sodas juice and water.
