There is normally very little information about Grandma Party ANYWHERE on the internet (when I google for it, stuff from about 3 authors turns up, and I'm one of them)... therefore, I will let previous coverage speak for itself.

There is the Grandma Party Hotline, which you can call in to, and listen at your own risk.

The event itself is always awesome. There will be live music, RAFFLES, interactive exhibits like a YouTube video booth, a baloon pool or a small plastic tent where a band plays. You really never know what your are going to see, just that it will be original. Parking will be insane, since they hold the event in the parking lot, you have to find street parking or hope the ABC Liquor people don't tow you.

One of the only pieces I could find about this Winter's event comes to us via The Daily City blog:

Grandma Party Bazaar (part six) will be a-happenin’ on the shortest day of 2008, Sunday December 21st at Stardust from about 10am until magic hour and beyond.

First of all I want to express how a-mazing its been watching Grandma Party grow grow grow since the first bazaar in December 2005. Every time I am more and more impressed with the things that everyone is making and doing. So thank you thank you thank you for being so crafty and motivated and awwwwwwsooooome!

However, I have also noticed that Grandma Party has drifted a bit from its original intention of being a gathering of artists and crafters selling their handmade goods.
In an effort to bring us back to that I have a few guidelines and suggestions for possible vendors. Check it out:

  • All vendors (for the most part, see below) MUST be selling handcrafted items. This can be anything you want as long as you MAKE it. Or if your friends make it, that’s ok too.
  • I do realize that creating beautiful vintage collections is an art in itself, and the truth is that people like buying vintage clothes. That being said I will allow 3 vintage dealers. Other vendors may have a small collection of vintage at their booths as well, so long as it is NOT the majority of what they are selling.
  • Your old stuff (old clothes, books, movies, etc…) is NOT allowed UNLESS it has been artistically altered. If you have old stuff that you are looking to get rid of donate it to the rummage pile or have a yard sale.
  • Interactive booths are highly encouraged!!!!! At past bazaars this has included the photo booth, songs while you wait, youtube video upload booth, tarot, henna, massage…. And in the future could include awesome things like a kissing booth, art projects for kids, face painting, collaborative art, and who knows what else.
  • If you intend on raising money for a charity or doing volunteer work through your booth please let us know. This is super awesome and we will most likely be into advertising your cause.

So now you know.
