Florida Creatives - Creating a Community of Innovation

More than 2 years ago, I heard about these two marketing guys / geeks from New York who had started an event they held on Friday mornings for coffee and conversation. The first few were just the two of them, but as they invited people and the word got out, it grew until it started getting on the radar all over the world. Now Likemind happens in scores of cities on every continent, and Orlando has been on that list almost since the beginning.

Likemind is before work (8AM), it happens downtown, and everyone is welcome. Bring a few friends, get some coffee, and tell us what's on your mind.

It's not a user group, it's not an unconference, it's not a geek dinner, it's not a meetup or a networking event. Yet, people who enjoy these types of events will find a home at our table.

The best way I can tie all these folks together is with the string of Innovation - that magic pixie dust that inspires us when we see it in others, rewards us when we achieve it ourselves, and pat our peers on the back when they can do it without bragging.

Indeed, whether they be engineers, entrepreneurs, artists, actors, writers, or anyone else, the spark of invention brings us all to the marketplace, and has kept us coming back for over 2 years.

DrupalEasy, Mike Anello and Ryan Price’s partnership, is presenting Building Content Rich Sites Drupal Training at the scenic Leu Gardens in Orlando on July 23.

We had a bit of an "off" month in June, so let's try to make a spectacular July comeback for a casual evening like-minded creative talk and networking.

At our last large meetup down in Melbourne, we had writers, software developers, game designers, photographers, and filmmakers - all from Brevard County! Come on out to Murdock's for a chance to get to know your fellow creative Brevardians (Space Coasters?)
