Florida Creatives - Creating a Community of Innovation

If you haven't already been following... here is an official post for tomorrow's beer, coffee and more meet-up at Brew Urban Cafe. No obligations or expectations, just come grab a beer and hang out with the creative talent of South Florida. The details are below.

We are in the process of putting together a creative meetup for ALL South Florida creatives to show their face. We are calling it a creative summit, because we know just as much as you do that it's going to be like climbing F-ing Everest to get us creative types to show up.

What we have so far:
(1) Several Ideal locations that can be scalable to any size.
(2) A Kick Ass presentation on a new independent vs. agency working model that's rocks.
(3) FREE microbrew beer and coffee for everyone that is in attendance.

What we need:
(1) A couple of other Creatives that want to help select the best location and share local spots these mythical creative types gather so we can get everybody on the same page
(2) Anyone else that wants to present something within 2 min window of time.

We had a great turnout from Orlando, Tampa and Jacksonville folks down in Coconut Grove yesterday, and a substantial number of presentations by our regular cast of characters. Gregg Pollack, Rob Dempsey, Bryan Conzone, Brian Feldman, Eric Marden, Tim Rosenblatt and myself (just to name a few) all took the podium at various times throughout the day.

A huge thanks to Alex DeCarvalho, who seemed to have single-handedly pulled this unconference together in a matter of days.

BarCampMiami will take place once again at the outstanding Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, kicking off an exciting week for technology in South Florida.

What is BarCamp?

BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from attendees. BarCampMiami 2009 will include WordCamp!
