Are you looking for summer help? Workforce Central Florida (WCF) is offering a Summer Job Connection program, an employment program that pays the wages of 750 disadvantaged young adults to work with local employers. The job entails working 35 hrs./week at $8.25 per hour for six weeks (about 100 participants will also work in an 11-week program in emerging industries).
WCF is searching for nonprofit and government organizations, as well as for-profit companies in renewable/sustainable energy; photonics; optics; modeling and simulation; nanotechnology/nanoscience; digital media; green jobs; Internet securities; biotechnology; science, technology, engineering and math; health care; health informatics and electronic health records to apply for summer help.
I'm seeking work in the writing and editing industry. I have seven years of editorial experience with a proven track record of maintaining timeliness and adaptability. In my roles, I have written and edited a variety of materials—teacher user guides, student textbooks, web courses, health insurance-related marketing materials, literary magazines, alternative weeklies, college newspapers and an entertainment web zine—all while maintaining a specific style and adhering my work to the intended audience.
Hello Florida Creatives Community,
I have been working on starting my business since last May and over the last couple of month, business has been VERY slow. So I am in need of some work to make ends meet. Do you know of any opportunities? Here is my resume. Any advice, leads, connections are very much appreciated. Thanks!

For those of you South Florida Kids on LinkedIn, I went ahead and added a South Florida Creatives LinkedIn Group. You need manager approval to join, and once I get Travis in there, hopefully he will take over approving members.
The overall FLCreatives Group has 99 members right now, and the Brevard FL Creatives sub-group has 18 members. I'm sure South Florida can step up and make it to 24 (just like on this site) with no problem.
Jeff Piersall from SCBMG is looking for a reliable programmer to work for his company, probably to work on their main brevard portal. Must have open source PHP experience. Go to their site and apply from there.

There is a group on Facebook called The Arts @ UCF - I noticed this posting there, and decided someone in our group might be interested. This was posted by Sylvia Fernandez:
Hey guys!
Hope your semester has been off to a great start, we're still finalizing details for our first Spring semester meeting, but I wanted to let you all know about this opportunity.
The Employ Florida Digital Media Banner Center at SCC had their first-annual Digital Media Workforce Summit in November 2008. Here is some video from the event, captured on my point-and-shoot camera.

Since the beginning of Florida Creatives, the people have always clambered for a place to post and seek jobs. In the past, I have used the FLCreatives blog for this purpose, or some folks have used the Google Groups list: those days are over.
The ground rules:
Use this space to post job availabilities, or say that you are looking for work. Please understand that joining this list will (by default) sign you up to receive email for every post or comment in this group; you can always unsubscribe and re-subscribe any time you like.
NOTE: if you are posting jobs, please do not post the jobs to other groups, such as regional groups, without permission from the group's moderator. Dozens of people receive emails for each of the groups on our site, and we do not want to be labeled as spam.
