Want a blog? Have a blog? Want to make a better blog?

Make plans now to attend the Central Florida Blogger Conference. It is perfect for beginning bloggers and seasoned pros. Whether you blog as a hobby, for your business or as a public relations professional, you’ll be sure to learn new strategies to build your brand, influence in your community, and make new friends.

And bring your computer along, as wi-fi is available campus-wide!

In the Morning

Learn specific steps to build a better blog, regardless if you are an old pro or just starting out. Listen to bloggers who have “been there, done that” and have discovered the best practices for blogging in a variety of fields: fitbloggers, fashion bloggers, foodies, travel bloggers, etc. Generate more page views, bring down your bounce rate, raise your Google page rank, and become an influencer in social media. If all that sounds too technical, we have a sessions for beginner bloggers that will translate it all for you too!
In the Afternoon

Discover tips to publicize your blog. Learn how to navigate the world of Twitter and Facebook and make them work for you. Gain more readers and name recognition through “check ins” and maybe even go viral on Youtube. Learn how to monetize your blog through banner ads, affiliate networks, partnerships with local businesses, selling products/services and more.
In the Evening

Meet and greet, mix and mingle at the Social Mixer at Enzian Bar. Here’s your chance to not only network with fellow bloggers (maybe find a mentor?) but to also connect with the PR and Marketing professionals who will be there mingling. They are there to meet YOU and learn how to get their clients on to your blog!

One of our Florida Creatives kids (and the first subject of the Florida Creatives Podcast waay back in the day), and a fantastically awesome person by the name of Mark Baratelli, AKA the guy from The Daily City, got a half-page feature in the Orlando Weekly's LIVE ACTIVE CULTURES by Seth Kubersky.

This morning, Mark held a wonderful conversation called MOOM - don't ask me what it means, but you should have been there. Watch twitter and his blog for more announcements to get independent producers together.

Voce Communications, in partnership with Rollins College will host the third edition of this FREE event that was open to bloggers and non-bloggers alike from Florida and anywhere else. We bring together a good cross-section of folks to discuss blogging, podcasting, public relations, social media, citizen's journalism and other related topics. The event was as much a social/family gathering as it is a 'work' gathering.

There is an opening and a closing reception in Downtown Orlando on Orange Ave both nights - check the schedule for details.

Here I am again. Unmotivated, unsuccessful, unpublished, undesirable, uneducated, unmarketable, unemployed me.

I applied for at least 50 jobs online today. The only phone calls I got back were from the phone company who had to change my service for me because I can't afford frivolous things like Caller ID, some credit card collection agencies and my mother.
