You have stumbled on our little corner of the Internet - we have a so much time, so little to do - strike that, reverse it. Stick with us, and we'll make the future an awesome place to hang out. Learn more about Florida Creatives
The Brevard East Coast Creatives is a mashup of all sorts of creative, design, and code types of people whose business is working with businesses to help them communicate and brand themselves on the web or in print. We welcome liberal hippies and young conservatives alike. We welcome geeky code monkeys as well as artsy graphic designers. We welcome suit-and-tie marketing experts as well as hip trendy brand identity creators. We welcome firms, employees of companies, and freelancers alike. If you are community-minded and want to share ideas, experiences, meet the people working all around you in Brevard, then come hang out. No pressure. No forced presentations. No need to talk at all. Just listen. Or monopolize the conversation. We're small and really don't care either way. Get out of the house, the apartment, or the cubicle and come learn something new, share something crazy going on with a client, or meet someone who might be able to lend a helping hand (although probably not). Note to those invited to join: When you join, by clicking the "register" link on the upper right, you'll want to be sure to check the Brevard box in the Groups section of the registration signup. By default, everyone who joins Florida Creatives is a member of the overall state-wide group, but you have to manually select the individual sub-group(s) that you are interested in joining (such as our Brevard group here). All the subgroups of Florida Creative can be viewed here or by clicking on "Local Groups" at the top of the navigation menu on the left. Invite some others: If you are the manager or owner of a company, consider inviting all your coworkers or employees. They may want to meet others around town, too.
Social data is exploding and scientists, like Hilary, are gaining new insights into human behavior. But how can we use this data to create something meaningful? How can all of us - scientists, developers, artists, and other innovators - work together to build tools or products that make the world more productive, interesting and beautiful?

Born from the desire to share and learn in an open environment, BarCamp Orlando is back and better than ever.
BarCamp Orlando is an annual community-building event which aims to bring people from different backgrounds together for cooperative learning. Technologies such as Ruby, PHP, Java and C will be present alongside graphic design, music, photography, and other new media. We hope to provide free t-shirts and lunch to all attendees, but can only do so with assistance from sponsors.
This is the first Brevard Tech meetup where we will hold an introduction to arduino course. Jaycon Systems will be on hand to supply arduino boards and starter kits, but you should bring your laptop and a power cord along with a power strip and extension cord to share.
I am planning on getting a Brevard Tech Group monthly meetup started with the first meetup planned for early in February.
My idea is to not limit the topics, but to keep it open for discussion and exploration of hardware and software.
Right now, I have one meeting place on New Haven that we can certainly use, but it could be too small depending on the number of people who attend.
There also is the possibility of using FIT's lab as well.
For the first meetup, I am hoping to get the presenter from familab who has been doing the introduction to arduino and the arduino courses if this is possible.
Does anyone have any ideas or want to help?
Join Orlando's longest-running creative meetup to celebrate our 5th year of bringing likeminded people together. You can get great benefits out of meeting new people, like stimulating your brain, having a safe (non-judgemental) place to talk shop, finding someone to help you build that next startup, or just making friends. Lazy Moon is a local hot spot (if you live in East Orlando) with awesome pizza, great deals, craft beers and a "punk as f**k" vibe. If you're a UCF student you get a discount for skipping class.
