The other day after I went to the Digital Media Workforce Summit at SCC, I realized what an important role my upper education played in the career I chose, and the relationships I formed there are still rippling into what we've been doing with Florida Creatives for the past 2 years.

When you say students, are you talking about those currently paying for education or those of us who refuse to stop learning even after college.

I think in the case of the "College" and "Teachers" groups, we're going specific, but you are welcome to join the conversation. These were two groups I had meant to start for a long time and never did until recently.
I think everyone on this site refuses to stop learning... you're among the likeminded here.

I'd really like to see a group of web creatives started at UCF, particularly for those in the DM department. We tried starting a small gathering last summer, but it fizzled. This would by no means be limited to DM or even UCF, but that's where I saw the need.
I'm teaching the big lecture intro course in the spring. I'd love to recruit for members, particularly ones that are just getting started. Are there any regular groups already meeting that I can bring students to?

I was involved with UCF SIGGRAPH when it was the UCF Digital Media Club back in 2004... I don't know if Alexis and that gang are still doing regular meetings, but their site has links to us, and they showed up to some FLCreatives stuff in 2007.
The facebook group is where I would start.
